At Yarn

Yarn is small and intimate, with a unique vibe we hope you’ll love as much as we do. Originally created by Jade and Will after their return from New Zealand, Yarn is modeled on the Kiwi ‘Bar Eatery’ concept. In June 2022, Kerry and Simon took the reins, committed to preserving Yarn’s essence as a happy, welcoming place where everyone can enjoy “good times, good food, with good friends.”

Yarn’s Head Chef, Xav, hails from Réunion, a French island near Mauritius. His passion for Creole cuisine, a vibrant fusion of French, Chinese, African, Malay, and Indian traditions, shines through in the monthly specials and some of the more unusual dishes on our menu.

Each month, we introduce “The Visitor”- our special guest burger. Xav pours his creativity into crafting a burger that challenges the boundaries of the genre, whether it’s a bold steak and fries creation with Creole sauce or monkfish tails with Mac ’n Cheese. Expect the unexpected-it could be spicy, sweet, or both, but it will always be something special.

Closer to home, we proudly curate a selection of South West Craft Ales (the only bar in Dartmouth that does), local cider from Hunts of Stoke Gabriel, and distinctive wines that offer a taste of the unusual. At Yarn, we aim to provide an experience that’s refreshingly different in a world where everything often feels the same.
